Went to see the Manic Street Preachers at Hammersmith Apollo last night (their “Past and Present” tour). Put on a good show, pretty short though considering the £23.50 price tag. Had far too much to drink along with some other troublemakers who will remain nameless!
I’ve always recommended, and continue to recommend, Force9 for broadband. Fired off a support request to them at a quarter to eleven tonight (Sunday!) and they’d sorted it within 10 minutes. 2meg broadband coming soon if my line can take it! Schweet.
Went to see Pink Fraud at Club Riga on Friday night. They put on a fantastic show with a great video backdrop and played as many Pink Floyd classics as they could fit into their almost 3-hour long set. Highlights were a perfect rendition of Comfortably Numb (for the encore) and Wish You Were Here. See them if you can!
Went to the Sounds Expo (at Wembley Exhibition Centre) with Pete on Thursday.
It was pretty cool, went to a good talk on the fundamentals of synthesis, was familiar with most of it but picked up some good tips and learnt some jargon. Loads of sweet kit lying around and got to play with all sorts of synths, drum machines, guitar synths, etc.
All the stands were trying to out-do each other by turning their kit up to drown each other out, so the place got pretty deafening… then… silence! they had a power cut which took them about an hour to sort out! was quite funny seeing all these salesmen looking lost because none of their kit could do anything apart from look pretty! then it got a bit boring.. but they were giving out free bottles of coke so i couldn’t complain… (let’s just say I got my money’s worth…)
EmigrateNZ.co.uk relaunched a couple of days ago.
Click here for a free online book, “The Upside Downs of Emigrating to New Zealand” detailing one family’s experiences of emigrating. Also if you know anyone interested in emigrating, please send them the link.
Have just moved my websites to Site5 after experiencing a lot of problems with Lypha (slow MySQL in particular). Let’s hope these guys are better. Their prices sure are good - £10/mo for 4GB webspace / 60GB transfer.
Got Glastonbury tickets for me & Hayley. Had them ordered 11 mins after they went on sale. Ticketing website a LOT better this year.
Schweet.
