online shopping woes

Have been trying to get hold of a router for Dad’s business. Up to now I have always used and recommended dabs.com to everyone but semi-recently they’ve gone downhill and removed their telephone contact information, dealing only with customers via email. Which would be fine if they didn’t have an 8 working hour delay for dealing with customer enquiries. My advice is, if you know exactly what you want and there’s no chance something will go wrong with the order, then go ahead and take advantage of their slightly cheaper prices. I’d given them the benefit of the doubt up to now but have now given up. Placed a new order with novatech in the end and their sales staff were very helpful. Didn’t cost much more either. Chucked a DVD writer and 25pk blank DVD-R’s (for about a fiver) in for good measure :-)

Sounds like a nightmare. Ta for the link to ebuyer, looks like a good store. http://www.bigpockets.co.uk has a lot of cheap stuff, have never ordered though so dunno what their service is like… good luck getting glasto tickets tomorrow :???:

I’ve purchased a few computers from bigpockets, and got an absolute bargain, no problems there and they are good for DVD-R stuff I’m told.

I gave up on dabs a couple of years ago and went with ebuyer. I use them all the time as do the people I work with and I would recommend. They are also usually one of the cheapest places. The biggest downside for me is that they use City Link to ship items and it is a pain if you are not in when they deliver.
